Finger and edge joints with Pinus radiata: experience on quality determination

Abstract

During the last five years the Institute of Forest Product Technology at Universidad Austral de Chile has worked on quality determinations for finger and edge joints of PVA bonded Pinus radiata blockboards. Two standards were applied, EN 204-205 and ASTM D 3110. Based on the accumulated experience, this note presents a comparison of both standards and the results of quality controls.
