Abstract

The current situation of alternative products to sodium pentachorophenol and methyl bromide was analyzed through a bibliographic review. Several anti blue stain products were tested; however, none showed the effectiveness and efficiency of sodium pentachorophenol. Research into alternative products to methyl bromide is still in its infancy. Nevertheless, according to international standards, it is necessary to find new products less toxic to humans and the environment.
