This work presents the basis for an inventory system whose principal objective is the evaluation of the existing potential for diverse industrial uses of a highly heterogeneous resource sucha an that represented by the native forests of southern Chile.
Even though the system has been developed for the evaluation of the timber resources presently available in extensive areas, it is suitable for the varied objectives related to the intensive management of the native forests.
