Abstract

A method based in the use of indices was developed as a technique for ranking and assigning priorities to watersheds of arid and semiarid zones of Chile. The method was described and discussed by Iroumé and Gayoso (1990). The results of method testing and sensitivity analysis are described and discussed in this paper.
The method was found to be a useful tool for the analysis and priority allotment of watersheds. The watershed ranking possition did not vary significantly with criterion and parameter weigth changes. Method application to compare catchments of humid zones and to rank subunits of a top priority watershed need further study.
