Abstract

The efficiency of antistain, rust oil and hydrosoluble preservants in avoilding rust and fungus attack in particle board panels was studied.
Two differents raw materials, variable proportions of preservants and three differents types of glue were used to manufacture 3-play-panels.
The physical and mechanical properties of the panels were not affected by the use of preservants.
The panels did not lose weight nor were their strength properties significantly affected after the period of control. Thus it was concluded that preservant application proved to be efficciente.
These results encourage weather - resistant particleboard manufacturing for outdoor use when proper glue and preservants are utilized.
