This technical note describes the harvesting machine, "harvester", in forest operations, and includes a general method for machine evaluation and production studies of this equipment in forest plantations. In addition, procedures to obtain the information, determine the stages of a work cycle, and identify incident variables in the equipment efficiency are suggested.
